Craft Gin at the Railway

So long Dry January, well done you cancer’s butt kicking Dry-athletes out there. We’ve been keeping the boozy posts on the quiet in support for you rock stars, but now its February and we are here for you.

February is also the month of the National Gin Festival in London so we thought we’d bring you a small sample of craft gin from around the UK.

First is a local (Bournemouth) still Conker Dry- their gin was runner up gin of the year in 2014 but we think it should have been first- Here’s a bit of info in their own words:
We make Conker Gin using the traditional techniques, in a small batch alembic copper pot still. We distil British grain spirit with New Forest Spring Water and botanicals that embody the flavour and character of Dorset and the New Forest, including samphire, elderberries and hand-picked gorse flowers.

This gin is brazenly refreshing and deftly smooth, crafted to stand up on its own, poured and adored over ice. Mix at your pleasure, but this gin can hold its own!

Next up is a Scottish Gin with a twist Hendricks infused with rose and cucumber- its more floral and not as sharp as a more conventional gin- be cheeky and order with cucumber for an ultimate tea time treat

Finally to make your G&T extra special we have just ordered in Fentimans traditional tonic. It’s a refreshingly smooth drink on its own, and has been recommended by Jamie Oliver in his creation of the ultimate Gin and Tonic
