The Craft Beer Revolution has been propelling the pub industry forward over the last couple of years, in the last year alone the craft beer market has swelled by 8%. It started with Micro brewers producing an alternative choice to the mass produced cask offering, seeing local pubs step up their game and increase the choice offered. Back in 2013 the number of brewers reached a 70 year high and saw a real turning point in the culture of independent pubs.
Over our six years in then business we have really enjoyed meeting with the best brewers in Hampshire, Dorset and Somerset and working with them to promote their products. Gone are the days when pubs need to turn over the entirety of their bars to dedicated gastro dining, and instead we can focus on what makes pubs a truly special British Institution.
We’ve been keen to embrace the craft revolution as it happens- which is why we were one of the first pubs in Hampshire (and certainly the New Forest) to introduce craft kegs to our product offering. Kegged beer might still seem like a large step away from the Campaign for Real Ale, but the kegging process delivers the best possible quality of beer to the consumer as the beer leaves the brewery ready to dispense. Keg beer also offers our customers an incredible choice of beer from further distances and in alternative strengths and characteristics.
From our First introduction of brew dog IPA back in 2015 we’ve swelled our range and began to rotate our offer. You will now see brilliant examples of IPA’s, Pales and Lagers gracing our craft font. Perfectly complementing our four rotating cask ales.
In 2016 we decided to expand our offer further by bringing in our first extensive range of craft beers in bottles. What is at present the largest range of Craft Beers in the New Forest.
We thought that it was about time someone stepped up the Craft Beer offer in The New Forest, and ensured that whatever the day of the week there would be plenty of choice and always something new to try. Our Current beer list offers a whopping 20 beers- with extra’s being available on the pop up garden bar on Weekends. Featuring some of the best names in the beer biz.
