BEATS X EATS

This weekends specials …

new forest pub

Fish tacos are back, new to try are our Lymington Plaice burger, Asparagus fries, Asparagus and Avocado 🥑 Cobb salad and some awesome new desserts…

Baka Fish Tacos are back and better than before because we’ve set up a super fresh and local supply (Lymington and Mudeford) served with pickled red cabbage, salsa and lime cream. Our kitchen team handmade their tacos from scratch – you get three ready loaded for £9

The plaice was so great we ordered in extra to make our version of fish finger sandwich- the fish is pan fried in a light lemon seasoning and served with a mouthwatering basil and garlic mayo £8

Also on the menu for this week only is Sopley asparagus which is really at its best at the moment. We are serving it simply grilled with a Dorset blue vinney dip

Or as the star in our version of a cobb salad complete with our own rescue hens eggs, avocado, oakleaf and tomato

If that doesn’t leave you feeling quite full enough then this week sees our first ever churros with chocolate and chilli dip

And brand new ice cream 🍦 vegan sundae and this epic ice cream cookie sandwich

Local craft beer focus Unity

new forest pub

We’re representing the south coast across our bar offering this week- including our craft keg font which is proud home to Unity Conflux this week.

Conflux an American style pale ale, a juicy and citrusy beer with a soft mouthfeel. Late hopped it uses a blend of German Hallertau Blanc and American Ekuanot -keeping bitterness low whilst still giving you plenty of aroma and flavour.

Unfined, all unity beers are suitable for vegans, and we have both conflux and their Collusion ipa in cans for you to enjoy at home next time you swing in for a take out or take away.

Gin of the week- Isle of Wight Mermaid

new forest pub

Each week we will be taking a little time to share with you one of our extensive range of artisan gins, this week we start with Isle of Wight distilled mermaid gin.

Need an escape from reality? The we seriously recommend the Isle of Wight Mermaid Gin.

It has an absolute feast of botanicals for you – locally sourced samphire and boadicea hops grown in botanical gardens.

These are complemented with fresh lemon, elderflower coriander, Angelica, liquorish root and, of course, juniper.

Slow distilled with chalk fed island spring water.

It’s a gin that’s best served straight up over ice and with Fever-Tree premium Indian tonic water, or their elderflower tonic to reflect the clean botanicals.

Spot light on… Tarquins Gin

new forest pub
As part of the launch of our new gin series, we will be writing a blog about each of our artisan gin producers. This week we are celebrating Cornish small batch distillers (and winner of the worlds best gin 2017) Southwest distillery. The head distiller is Tarquin (hence the name) and he distills Gins and pastis from a traditional family run set up in north Cornwall .
TARQUIN’S BRITISH BLACKBERRY GIN
Tarquin’s Brilliant British Blackberry Gin, with a touch of Cornish wildflower honey. Cornish sunshine in a bottle, and not too sweet.
TARQUIN’S ‘THE SEA DOG’ NAVY STRENGTH GIN
At 57% this gin is apparently the strength at which gunpowder would still ignite if it was accidentally soaked in gin during battle. The strength historically drunk by the Royal Navy, it is now available to rank and file! Each batch is sealed, labelled
